Our environmental programme

Environmental issues are profound core values for E.Ahlström. In practice this means that we make a decided effort to consider the environment in everything we do daily.

Recycling packaging materials is an important part of being environmentally friendly. The Environmental Register of Packaging PYR Ltd has awarded a certificate to E.Ahlström for its commendable management of recycling our packaging materials. All incoming boxes, pallets and filling materials are reused. In addition to this, recycled boxes are preferred when ordering cardboard boxes.

Use of paper has been cut to the minimum and extra papers and cardboard in the office is recycled. Also the warehouse recycles all extra cardboard.

All problem waste is recycled. For example printer ink cartridges, batteries, bulbs etc. are recycled as problem waste and broken pallets are turned into wood chips.

We focus on saving energy by turning off equipment, using energy saving light bulbs and turning on lights only when necessary during the day.

Environmentally friendly solutions are preferred in all our purchases. The products we represent and sell are researched to fulfill the quality requirements of Finnish laws and EU directives.
