World Champions of durable glaze

Serve food using dishes that are always shiny

HoReCa professionals know that hard glaze and resistance to scratching are crucial in high-quality dishes. Only hard glaze guarantees the flawless appearance of your serving dishes even after years of use. Your customers will appreciate this.

Why is hard porcelain harder than other ceramic materials?

The characteristics of porcelain depend on the basic mass and firing temperature. The white hard porcelain of Bauscher, Schönwald and Tafelstern is fired twice: the first firing is done at 960 centigrade temperature, the second at 1440 centigrades. Here, a simple basic rule applies: the higher the firing temperature, the harder and more durable the glazing.

The hard porcelain of Bauscher, Schönwald and Tafelstern is fired at about 200 centigrade higher temperature than most porcelain manufacturers use for their hotel and restaurant porcelain. The high firing temperature makes the glaze considerably harder than that of porcelain fired at lower temperatures, such as vitro-porcelain glaze, for example.

DureacreamThe hotter, the harder!

These factories also offer the only cream-coloured hard porcelain commercially available. Duracream products are fired at 1400 centigrade temperature. The extremely hard glaze prevents scratching and gives the thin-rimmed items good rim durability.

High-quality porcelain in every respect

Product brands Bauscher, Schönwald and Tafelstern are a guarantee of high quality and are seamlessly linked with haute cuisine.
